Moorwand, a payments solutions provider offering BIN sponsorship and issuing services, today announced that Vicki Gladstone has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer and that the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Luc Gueriane as CEO, effective immediately. Vicki will remain a member of the board as Non-Executive Director. Luc has been with Moorwand for more than three years and has served as Chief Commercial Officer since 2019.

“I’ve decided to step aside from the day to day running of Moorwand and move on to new projects and adventures. Luc Gueriane is taking the role of CEO and is a natural fit to guide the next phase of the business as it grows. We have taken this as an opportunity to review the business structure and recognise the strength and talent of the team built over the past 2 years. I have every confidence that Luc will continue the success at Moorwand, his contribution over the past few years has been transformational and I will continue to support Moorwand in a new role.” said Gladstone.

Executive Promotions

In addition to Gueriane’s appointment to the Board, the Company announced that its Head of Client Relations, Kevin Friedrich has been promoted to the role of Chief Commercial Officer and to the Moorwand Board. Gareth Mahoney, Head of Compliance has been promoted to the role of Chief Compliance Officer also to the Moorwand Board.

Both Kevin and Gareth joined in 2020 and have had a major impact on the business in their roles, as Head of Client Relations Kevin has spearheaded building and retaining Moorwand’s growing network of customers and Gareth has driven business compliance and regulatory controls. Following their appointment to the Board, both Kevin and Gareth will have a larger stake in the company’s strategic direction, whilst continuing to oversee their dedicated areas of expertise.

With these new appointments Moorwand’s strategy to drive growth with established financial institutions, fintechs and payment companies, and newer players in less mature geographies across the continent will be even stronger, with Kevin and Gareth having a huge part to play in this.
